Join Us for Banned Book Club

We’re thrilled to announce that our next Banned Book Club pick is The Duff by Kody Keplinger! This engaging and thought-provoking novel dives deep into high school dynamics, self-perception, and the struggles many teenagers face with identity and self-worth.

What’s The Duff About?
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is known for her loyalty and cynicism, and she doesn’t think she’s the most attractive of her friends. But Bianca is also smart, strong-willed, and knows better than to fall for the likes of Wesley Rush, the smooth-talking school hottie. When Wesley carelessly nicknames her “the Duff” (Designated Ugly Fat Friend), Bianca is outraged. What unfolds is a whirlwind of complex relationships and hard lessons about self-worth, acceptance, and love.

Despite its relatable themes, The Duff has found itself on banned book lists, making it the perfect selection for our next discussion.
